Posters and Notecards to be going home this week.

Parents and dancers,
Please be aware that Nativity posters and notecards are going home this week with the dancers for you to help with our marketing of our performances.

Senior Company is asked to hang 4 posters, Sr. Appr. is asked to hang 3, and the Young Company and Young Apprentices are asked to hang 2 posters each. (We have Cartersville and Rome posters, so make sure you get the right one for your area).

Be sure to ask permission before you hang any poster. It is best to start with places you do business with (pharmacy, doctor, dry cleaners, banks, grocery stores, schools, etc.). DO NOT HANG THEM IN YOUR ROOMS!!!! It is also nice to bring your own tape : )

We are also asking each dancer to send out at least 5 personalized notecards to friends/family/teachers. You need to make sure you write a handwritten invitation on the inside! These are printed for all shows, so if you want them to come to a specific one, you need to note that!!!

Thanks for your help in getting the word out! Notecards and posters need to go out THIS MONTH!

Nativity Performances and Cast Party....

As many of you know, we have added a ROME (not Canton) performance this year for Nativity. However, not all the company groups will be included in all shows, in order to make things easier on our "younger" girls.

Young Company, Sr. Apprentices, and Sr. Company are all included in the Rome (Dec. 13th at 3pm) performance. (Young Apprentices will be excused).

Young Apprentice, Sr. Apprentices, and Sr. Company are all included in the Trinity School show (Dec. 14th 9am) performance. (Young Company will be excused.)

And the Grand Theatre performances will include ALL of you (Dec. 19th 2pm and 7pm, and Dec. 20th at 3pm).

Also, we will be for the first time, having a after performance Cast Party for all the dancers/actors and their families at Stonewall Manor on Sunday, Dec. 20th at 530pm.) Cost will be around $10 each for family members, and less than that for cast members (SOF will offset their cost). You will not need to bring any food, as a catered heavy hor'dourve dinner will be provided. We thought this would be a great way to end our fall/Christmas season, and create no extra work for you since you will have already done so much that previous week!

Oh, if you have not already, make sure you have that nude colored leotard/undertard for the performances....

Fall Break Plan

Many of you have asked what we are doing for Fall Break. The plan is to give Monday Oct. 19 off to the Sr. Company and the Sr. Apprentices, and Oct. 20 to the Young Company and Young Apprentices. All other classes will meet those days including Company Trainee on Tuesday. This way everyone gets ONE day off. We have a lot to do to get ready for Nativity, but wanted to give you a well deserved break.

Be looking for our Saturday rehearsal schedule to be posted soon. All four levels of Company will have at least ONE Saturday rehearsal scheduled.

Additional Nativity Performances...in Rome and at Trinity

Due to the lighting constraints in Canton Theatre, we have changed our out of town venue for The Nativity to Rome Civic Auditorium on December 13th. Performance is either 3 or 4pm. THIS IS A FULL LENGTH SHOW!!! We will be rehearsing/staging that MORNING, so you need to plan on being in Rome all day that day. Dont worry, we will feed you!!

I have already been in touch with several of my old friends in Rome, and they are willing to help us get the word out! Riah Brand, one of our newest company members, lives in Rome and she and her family has offered to do so much already to help make this venue a successful show and outreach effort! I am so excited!!!

Rome Civic Ballet, and my dear friend Meredith Thomas/the director,will be working with us to fill in some of the things we need (like little ones to do the non-company dances like Away in a Manger, etc.).

We are working on many details. Note that the Young Apprentices will NOT be going to Rome, and I am still working on whether the YC will be going. (The YA/YC girls will be doing all the Grand shows and we dont want to wear them or their parents out!!) ALL Senior company and Sr. Apprentice members WILL be performing in Rome.

Please note that our school show that we do every year at the Trinity School in Cartersville IS BOOKED for Monday, Dec. 14th at 9am. You should be able to return to school that morning by 1015am. Not all the younger levels will be participating. I will be determining WHO is needed soon. For Sr. Co/Sr. Appr: Let us know if this is impossible for you to participate NOW.

Additional Venue for Nativity

Dear Sr. Co. and Sr. Apprentices,

We have been blessed to be able to add an additional venue for Nativity this year. Please mark your calendars now:

Sunday, Dec. 13: Nativity at Canton Theatre

This will be an all day affair, as we will stage the show and perform it in ONE DAY! Tentative times (11am-5pm; show around 3pm). We are using the two top companies for this day, (YA and YC will be excused).

The School show is most likely Monday, Dec. 14 and will involve YC, and Senior companies. Our "regular" Nativity dates at the Grand are Sat/Sun Dec. 19/20 and involves ALL. The Cast Party will be after the Sunday show in a reception house in Cartersville. (Stonewall Manor). More details about that coming later.
