Message from Ms. Theresa

Hi everyone,

I hope you are having some much deserved relaxation! Congratulations on a wonderful and blessed Nativity! It was eventful as always (Is KayKay back from Mexico yet?)...but AMAZING. I am so thankful, and may God continue to bless us with a wonderful new year!

I am taking some much needed personal time the first week back... I am fine and healthy, and can't wait to see you all next week. In the mean time, Ms. Ashleyanne is very excited to have you for extra classes this week and Ms. Kim Linenkohl will be guest teaching on Wednesday. (I know Holly Mitchell will be very excited!) I know you all will have a great week!

New Company DATE for Spring

Dear Timothy and Alpha/Omega dancers and families, Board members, and SOF Staff,



After much research and discussion, we have decided to move the Company performance which includes all Timothy and A/O dancers to a separate day from the studio Spring Concert. This is for many reasons.



First, the Grand has instituted a new policy allowing only two shows in a day. We have always had three shows, and were already anticipating going to Friday for a fourth show. With May 12 being Mother's Day weekend, we could NOT go to Sunday. : ) (as I am sure you moms will agree).



We have also, dispite the economy, GROWN in number of students in the studio. We anticipate (and pray) this will continue into the Spring. So we needed MORE time for shows, not less. Fitting all the company and studio students into ONE week for dress rehearsals was getting near impossible.



Thirdly, we also wanted to make the shows SHORTER. Two hours and longer was simply too long. Long spring concerts has been a growing complaint. My desire was to have a full company show (with a strong theme and story line), a Timothy show featuring our Timothy levels, and a bunch of mini one-hour shows for our little ones and noncompany classes.



SOOOOOO.......



After researching the area, and doing site visits, we have decided the the Timothy dancers and the Alpha and Omega dancers will have their shows on SATURDAY, APRIL 28, 2012 at the GRAND Theatre. There will be two shows that day. Timothy will dance in the early afternoon only. A/O will dance some in the afternoon show, and do their entire repretoire in the late afternoon show. Tech week will be April 24-27 (Tu-F). (I know my older girls will love it is NOT near finals or end of the year band/chorus stuff). We will be inviting the public and all the studio students to attend these shows. UPDATE: Shows will be at 1pm and 4pm that day.



The STUDIO SPRING SHOW featuring the students of the studio will be on SATURDAY MAY 12th (as originally posted) at the CARTER HALL of the CLARENCE BROWN CONVENTION CENTER (a new venue for us-it is beautiful by the way). All the Timothy and A/O girls WILL be appearing in these shows, but only briefly, and perhaps only once (Timothy). So on that note, you WILL have classes in May as well, however, tech rehearsal will be greatly reduced this late in the year.



We will be announcing this to the studio as a whole shortly, but I wanted to make sure you have APRIL 28 and MAY 12 on your calendar NOW! There is a lot to this transition, and change can be hard. But in this case, Ms. Tonya, Ms. Theresa and I are VERY EXCITED about this opportunity!!! I will have more details later this year.

Hey Everyone in Alpha, Omega, and T4 (and staff!!)!

Wanted to remind you that our first Sunday SOAK (Seeking our Almighty King) is this Sunday, Sept 11 from 6-8! Our main purpose of starting these soak times once a month is to allow the holy spirit to speak to us as a group. When we come into the presence of the Lord together He will bring a unity that surpasses all understanding. We are excited about all the plans the Lord has for S.O.F this year but our main excitement is the wonderful revelations that the Lord will give us as we seek His word.

Another rehearsal to learn Hip Hop dance

Tomorrow there is ANOTHER rehearsal for the Tabitha and Napoleon Hip Hop dance for National Dance Day! It went great last week, and there was a demand for another rehearsal! (Please refer to the previous blog entry about National Dance Day at the studio) Remember to bring a friend on Saturday!

National Dance Day Celebration!! UPDATED 7/26

Steps of Faith will be celebrating National Dance Day on July 30th at our studios from 10:00 - 3:00. ALL company dancers are invited! We will be performing (outside!) the Tabitha and Napoleon routine that the whole country is learning and performing that day. Bring video cameras! Everything is FREE! There will be free preballet. ballet 1, and recreational hip hop classes going on all day! Steps of Faith Alumni will be there to help!

Support Caroline Lloyd!!

Hello Everyone! We are asking everyone to write a letter (or card) of encouragement and bring it to SOF on Thursday, June 23rd (9:30am-3:30pm)and give to Ms.Tonya. We are overnighting an envelope of support letters and cards for her to recieve on Friday.

Competition begins on Thursday. Friday they will announce top ten finalists. Whoever makes it to top ten will start over with competitions again between those ten. And then on Saturday evening they will air the show. So be praying for Caroline!!

We can watch the competition on Saturday, 8pm (eastern time) via internet.
